it’s been a whirlwind of activity here at casa de lessinger this month!

i watched my niece (1.5) and nephew (3.5) for a few days … in addition to my kids (and if you can’t recall their ages because there are so many, they are 9, 5, 3, 1.5, and 1.5). Oh wait. See that 9 over there? The oldest? Well, the week that my niece and nephew were here also happened to be the week he went to church camp. So the good news was that there were only 6 kids. the bad news was that the easiest and most helpful kid was the one that was gone!

the following weekend, we had my grandma’s 80th birthday. yes, i have photos. no, i haven’t got them ready to share yet. read on. :-)

we came back from south dakota on sunday, and flew out to new york on the next tuesday. my hubby is from ny and we took a trip to visit his grandma and family. flying with 5 is … an experience. but it went well and we had a blast.

somewhere in all of that, i was able to be part of a fantastic 90th birthday celebration. i love how the dad brought out his top hat. check out his big ol’ smile whenever it is on his head!

thanks so much for letting my take your photos, guys. i know *ahem* some of you were getting a bit tired of the camera but everyone was so cooperative and the group looks fantastic!

one last thing – my senior search is still on! let me know if you are interested, and shoot me an email for additional information. summer is flying by!

Hi, all! Yes, my poor blog has been very neglected lately. As always, there is too much to do and too little time!

Here’s my reason for a drive-by posting tonight. Senior photo season is hitting. Well, if you are here in central MN, it feels like hurricane season rather than senior season. But i digress.

I need 2 or 3 outgoing seniors to be my marketing team. This is how it works: we shoot your senior photos. You get a good deal on your package. You tell all of your friends and show them your killer photos.

It’s that easy! So if you are that senior, contact me right away and we’ll get this thing started.

Here are my basic senior package prices. I don’t shoot in studio. All of my work is on location – I come to you, and bring my “mobile studio.” Think about the benefits of having your entire wardrobe + your “gotta look great” stuff right there, rather than trying to drag thing to a studio.

4x8_senior-packages_final_webhope to hear from you soon!

I know, I know. It’s not even 8 pm on 1.1.10. But it’s already been a great year. The twins turned 1 yesterday, and we let them rip into some cupcakes today to honor the event. It’s my version of the cake smash – only at home.

Red velvet cupcakes + white cream cheese frosting + blue icing = MESS.

“Whatcha got over there, Holden?”

Awwww. Aren’t my boys cute?!? Unfortunately, my bathtub is not looking so hot. That blue icing was a bear to get off of the babies, and not so great for the tub, either!

I haven’t shared much for photos lately. Since Thanksgiving, we’ve celebrated Thanksgiving (obviously), 4 birthdays, 1 preschool program, 1 holiday dance show, 1 church play, Christmas, New Years, and 1 mega-cool spy party for a bunch of loud, crazy, excitable 8 & 9 year old boys. Not to mention that tomorrow it will officially be 12 years since I got hitched. That’s a lot of celebrating! Hope your holidays have been memorable and exciting, and here’s to a great 2010!

at the mall, anyway! I actually don’t like thinking about Christmas until Thanksgiving, but that’s because we have managed to smoosh 4 out of 5 of our children’s birthdays between Thanksgiving and New Years … plus Christmas and New Years itself and our anniversary on January 2. Yeah. That was some GOOD planning. :-)

But I digress. So here are a few Christmas card samples if you are one of those on-the-ball types that is already ahead on the seasonal planning. I threw in a couple of photos that were handy.

You might recognize the family in the doorway from an earlier blog post. I just love this shot!

And the small army of children + the redhead is me and mine. The hubs was taking the photo, which is why he wasn’t in there with us. Don’t you love my artistically enhanced version of him? Ha! My personal Thanksgiving goal: a family photo!

The •M• family

October 15, 2009

Last weekend, I was scheduled to shoot the •M• family. We had everything set for a fantabulous outdoor shoot – lovely fall colors, weather that was warm enough for a light jacket or sweater, the perfect spot chosen.

That was Friday. You know, the same day that my kids were outside playing in normal fall clothes.

Then I went to bed. And when I got up Saturday morning, guess what I saw? SNOW. Bah. What a buzzkill. Not what an 8 month old cutie should be subjected to, you know?

So we did the shoot at the •M• house. I’m so glad it snowed!! Their house was super cute, and I think that having family photos in the actual family home is meaningful. Don’t get me wrong – I love a good outdoor shoot or a lovely backdrop. But a great in-the-home session? You just can’t beat it.

And of course, it didn’t hurt anything that this was an adorable family. Check out the adorable baby blues on little miss •M•.

Here are a few of my favorites. I’m almost done editing them, guys – look for a gallery link in your email in the next couple of days! :-)

Alison: Those are so cute! Love the second one with her sitting at their feet.

Hey, faithful blog readers!

September 29, 2009

Fall is here, and senior photo season is winding down.

I’m looking to add to my portfolio of seniors. This is where you come in! I’d love to shoot your senior photos – no session fee involved. I get some great images for my website and my portfolio, and you get senior shots without any risk. If you decide to order, I’ll cut you a sweet deal on the packages (like 40% off!) :-)

If you are interested or know of anyone that would be, contact me!

And while we are talking about seniors, here are a few sample grad announcement designs. I just plugged in random names and dates and schools and places, so look at the prettiness and ignore the actual text.

A little bit girly …

Thinking about Christmas yet?

September 24, 2009

You should be, you know. Especially if you want to have an awesome Christmas card photo!

I’m running a special for family photos this fall, but it is only good through November. Check it out and book your slot now!

Check back in the future for some killer Christmas cards, too. I custom design each card. My favorite size is 5×7, either flat or folded.

Babies are fun.

grunzinger_img_74461

You know they are. And they are even more fun when I get to play with them and take pictures of them but I don’t have to change their diapers. :-) This little cutie might look familiar … I took his photo a few months ago. Now he is 6 months old (and my boys are closing in on 7 months – yikes!)

His daddy is a pilot, so I guess he loves to fly. Ha! Actually, he does this ALL the time. The kiddo has abs of steel!

Look at him stand! So stinkin’ cute. I made his little shirt – mama is a scientist, daddy is pilot. My weird sense of humor, which is fortunately shared by our friends. :-)

My girl has eyelashes, but E has EYELASHES. And they curl. Look out, girls.

My favorite shot.

Hope you guys love them as much as I do, Ray & Laura!

The coolest thing EVER!

July 21, 2009

Check out these thin floating wraps. I just got this one today … absolutely love it! I am thinking I’ll be ordering tons of these for my OWN house, but they might look cool in your house too. ;-)

The one I’m posting is 10×20. A great size … not too big, not too little, just the right size for a small accent wall. This one is going to replace 2 8×10′s, hung vertically, and it will be the perfect size.

Here is is from the front …

and the side … see the way it is lifted away from the wall?

and another side view.

In another news … I think it is time to have a portrait party in the St. Cloud area. It’s a great way to get some photos of your kiddo! If you are interested, email me and I’ll give you some information: jen.lessinger@gmail.com!
